The Slackers Bookclub
The Curious Incident of the book club in the night time.
The idea for this book club was brought to you by Eric "that should have been a 3 hour read"™ Mattson.
You may recall Mattson as the person who has brought you great things like:
- BaconLab™
- Two Scoops™
- Dangerously Over Confident, aka: "DOC"™
- The Four Hour Workweek™
- etc, etc...
And Mattson said, "it's fun hanging out with you guys, we should start a book club"
And there was a book club
And well, maybe Mattson said that, maybe he didn't, maybe I just went along with the collective euphoria surrounding the moment, or maybe
my gut feeling that it would be great to drink wine and eat food and have discussions with Brian, Eric and Wu.
I later though Sarah would provide further entertaining digressions, and it turns out I was right.
For some reason we landed on classics as the genre to read. I guess I wanted to read more classics, seeing as my high school somnambulism left me without having read any book with either long words or intricate plots.
With much alacrity I expect assiduous attacks on this propitious idea, impetuously even, towards an edifying accretion of
knowledge, continued cultivation of my languid thoughts, my vapid desires. The
sardonically anticipated outcome, hope that we are not of working through our first set of books
